About the Role

This role offers a professional apprenticeship focused on intellectual property law, including patents, designs, and trademarks. You will learn to manage legal processes, communicate with international clients and legal professionals, and become a competent point of contact for partners and attorneys in protecting intellectual property.

Responsibilities

Understand the nature of patents, designs, and trademarks and their relation to intellectual property rights.
Learn how inventors protect their inventions from unauthorized use or copying.
Understand the process of an invention from patent application to patent grant.
Learn to protect trademarks and designs for clients.
Understand how registered trademarks or granted patents benefit clients.
Learn to correspond with authorities, courts, clients, and colleagues in German and English.
Understand deadlines and how to manage them.
Become a competent point of contact for partners and attorneys in the protection of patents, trademarks, and designs.

Requirements

Possess a secondary school leaving certificate (mittlere Reife), high school diploma (Abitur), or a completed vocational training as a legal assistant (Rechtsanwaltsfachangestellter/Rechtsanwalts- und Notarfachangestellter).
Alternatively, be a trained foreign language secretary or possess a comparable educational qualification.
Excellent written and spoken German and English skills.
Strong organizational skills, with attention to detail and accuracy.
Enjoy written and verbal communication with international clients.
