About the Role
You will be one of Mural's first product hires, reporting jointly to the COO and CTO. You will own the roadmap, be accountable to revenue-driving metrics, and manage partner and vendor relationships. You'll have a dedicated pod of engineers, real autonomy, and the mandate to define what product means at Mural. This role is positioned to lead the product function as it scales.
Responsibilities
- Talk to customers constantly, weekly at minimum and often daily.
- Prototype your own ideas, creating working demos, not decks.
- Work AI-natively using agentic development.
- Contribute code, read the codebase, prototype against it, and ship.
- Own the roadmap, including the 'no', and provide product sign-off before customer commitments.
- Approve forward-deployed engineering engagements touching your pod.
- Provide input into pod engineering hires.
- Engage in dialogue with leadership for direction setting, arriving with a thesis.
Requirements
- 4 to 10 years across engineering and product, including time as a professional software engineer.
- Shipped production code.
- Payments and fintech infrastructure domain experience.
- Experience building new and novel products in fintech, especially where tradfi meets blockchain.
- AI-native builder, using agentic tools daily to prototype, analyze, and ship.
- Opinionated and visionary, able to form and defend a product thesis.
- Customer-obsessed, with an instinct to talk to customers when uncertain.
- Built for ambiguity, able to create and own product processes and product ops.
- Experience from companies like Stripe, BVNK, Airwallex, Modern Treasury, Unit, Bridge, Lithic, Column, Increase, Wise, Nium, dLocal, Bitso, Circle, and Coinbase, or founded fintech infrastructure companies.
