The focus is on research into the implementation of fault-tolerant logical gates, including lattice surgery, homological measurements, co-designs with quantum error-correcting code and decoders, and physical implementations with measurement-based continuous-variable degrees of freedom.

Responsibilities

  • Designing, simulating, and optimizing the logical (quantum-error-correction) layers of Xanadu’s photonic quantum computer.
  • Researching the implementation of fault-tolerant logical gates.
  • Implementing lattice surgery.
  • Implementing homological measurements.
  • Co-designing with quantum error-correcting code and decoders.
  • Implementing physical implementations with measurement-based continuous-variable degrees of freedom.

Requirements

  • MSc or PhD in Physics, Engineering, Computer Science or a related technical field.
  • Expertise in quantum error-correction, especially in the fault-tolerant implementations of logical gates.
  • Demonstrated programming skills for research, coursework, or personal projects.
  • Demonstrated strong communication skills, e.g. papers, posters, conference talks, teaching experience.
  • Ability to operate in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple competing priorities/deadlines.
