About the Role
As one of Mural's first Business Development Representatives, you'll be the first human a future customer meets. You'll run the top of our funnel alongside our founders and Account Executives, finding companies that need us, earning their attention, and handing our AEs conversations that are worth their time. Your job is to take AI-generated signals and turn them into real relationships. The number you own is qualified meetings booked.
Responsibilities
- Book meetings that matter by qualifying inbound and outbound leads against our ICP and providing AEs with an economic buyer who has a real cross-border problem, a reason to act now, and the necessary context.
- Develop a deep understanding of our ICP, including consumer fintechs, workforce and creator payout platforms, B2B fintechs, and travel platforms, to effectively communicate how money moves for specific use cases.
- Utilize AI tools like Mural's agentic teammate, Clay, and Claude for account research, mapping warm paths, identifying triggers, and drafting initial outreach messages, followed by personalization and sending.
- Prioritize warm outreach paths (mutual connections, investor intros, content engagement, conference interactions) before employing cold outreach with personalized messaging and calls.
- Manage the daily workflow of sourcing, qualifying, touching, logging, booking, and handing off leads across various channels.
- Serve as a feedback loop for the GTM and Growth team by logging touches, tracking replies, and reporting on field insights (objections, competitor mentions, new use cases) to refine messaging.
- Own the metric of qualified meetings booked, defined as an ICP-fit economic buyer or champion with a real cross-border problem, accepted by the AE.
Requirements
- 2 to 4 years of experience as a BDR/SDR or in a similar quota-carrying role within fintech or payments, with a history of high performance.
- Working fluency in cross-border payments, FX, payouts, treasury, or stablecoins, enabling conversations with financial leaders.
- Demonstrated hunger and tenacity, with a persistent follow-up strategy and a commitment to not letting leads go quiet.
- Proficiency in using AI tools daily to enhance productivity, understanding the balance between AI capabilities and personal judgment.
- Strong writing skills, producing outbound communication that is intelligent and conversational.
- Ability to thrive in an early-stage environment characterized by ambiguity, high ownership, and significant impact.
