About the Role
As a Data Engineer Consultant, you will work on various client projects and contribute to building Sia AI solutions. You will play a key role in shaping the future of a young, diverse, and growing Data Science team with a flat structure that encourages initiative and knowledge sharing.
Responsibilities
- Architect cloud services on GCP, AWS, and Azure, including storage, compute, cost monitoring, and Infrastructure as Code.
- Containerize and orchestrate applications using Docker and Kubernetes.
- Develop server-side tools with Python, including bulk data processing and REST API servers.
- Manage CI/CD pipelines for applications and internal platforms.
- Develop ETL scripts for Big Data environments.
- Implement and manage infrastructures and services for Machine Learning, supporting Data Scientists in model training and deployment.
- Work within a DevOps culture, taking responsibility for the code lifecycle.
- Implement application protection solutions, including certificate management, HTTPS security, OAuth2 authentication, and credential management.
Requirements
- Master’s Degree with a strong quantitative component (e.g., Econometrics, Physics, Mathematics, Statistics, Quantitative Finance).
- 1-3 years of relevant experience in Data, DevOps, Cloud, or Software Engineering.
- Proficiency in Python and solid foundation in other languages.
- Familiarity with at least one SQL DBMS (ideally PostgreSQL) and ideally noSQL (ideally MongoDB).
- Familiarity with at least one cloud services platform (GCP, AWS, Azure) with experience mixing services.
- Comfortable using Docker and automating CI/CD pipelines.
- Strong appetite for gaining competence in Kubernetes.
- Ability to work in a DevOps culture and manage the code lifecycle.
- Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code concepts and tools (ideally Terraform).
- Sensitivity to security issues and experience in implementing application protection solutions.
- Strong interest in data and AI-related topics.
- Excellent interpersonal and team working skills.
- Excellent English and Dutch verbal and written skills.
