Responsibilities
- Regularly review and implement the company's risk management framework, including annual planning and reviews of hedging activities.
- Assess risks and implement appropriate limits for new activities, and assess the materiality of gaps in valuation and risk measurement of existing transactions.
- Conduct regular reviews of established limits in light of current trading book strategies and monitor compliance with trading and control policies.
- Identify, measure, manage, and monitor/report risks within commercial and trading activities.
- Provide value-added analysis to Management and the trading function on sources of value, key risks, and scenario testing.
- Assist and coordinate credit application requests from Trading and Aviation Marketing.
- Regularly meet with HQ to communicate and report counterparty risk issues.
- Manage product control, including new business/product applications and settlement of exchange-listed futures and cleared swaps.
- Oversee operational risk management and enterprise risk management.
- Prepare reports and ad hoc materials in a timely manner, meeting specified requirements.
- Serve as the primary liaison with the HQ Legal & Compliance Department, coordinating all related matters and ensuring alignment with regulatory requirements, internal policies, and compliance frameworks.
- Lead and manage the Risk & Compliance department, including people management, performance management, and capability development.
- Provide training and support to team members.
- Prepare departmental and other relevant reports for Management and stakeholders.
- Oversee the development and execution of departmental and company policies and processes.
- Ensure effective execution of departmental responsibilities and delivery of agreed objectives.
- Represent the Company in the supervisory board and shareholders' meetings of the associate company, vote on behalf of the Company, and report material matters to GM/DGM.
- Review meeting materials and business performance of the associate company, identify and report issues, and assist GM/DGM in decision-making.
Requirements
- Degree level education preferred in Business, Economics, Finance, or other quantitative disciplines, but not essential with strong relevant experience.
- Hands-on and solid experience in product control and market risk within oil trading companies or banks.
- Deep knowledge of oil physical trading products, relevant OTC derivatives, and ICE exchange-traded products.
- Fundamental knowledge of credit and operational risk, and familiarity with credit enhancement tools and measures.
- Team management experience is a plus.
- High IT proficiency for risk and exposure quantification, measurement, and reporting.
- Excellence in using Microsoft Excel/Word/PowerPoint.
- Programming skills in Python are an advantage.
- Strong business acumen with excellent organizational and interpersonal skills.
- Solid understanding of the energy commodities trading industry and external markets.
- Hands-on experience in ETRM systems.
- Experience with ETRM implementation and applying AI tools in process or procedure automation is preferred.
- Mandarin speaking and writing skills are a must.
