About the Role
You will own one of the most established product areas in the company, with a large enterprise and public sector customer base, and drive its next chapter: making multi-cluster infrastructure the substrate that AI workloads run on, adopting clusters built outside our platform as first-class citizens, keeping pace with upstream Kubernetes and Cluster API, and turning long-term support into a product enterprises can buy. This is a deep domain role. You'll work daily with senior engineering leads and large enterprise customers. It rewards technical fluency and judgment about what not to build.
Responsibilities
- Own infrastructure for AI workloads, including bare metal and private cloud as the high-performance substrate for GPU clusters.
- Manage cluster lifecycle across all substrates: provisioning, upgrades, scaling, and Day-2 operations.
- Oversee the customer-facing side of platform transitions, including migration experiences and communication.
- Drive the strategic direction for brownfield adoption and federation, enabling seamless integration of externally built clusters.
- Develop long-term support (LTS) for Kubernetes versions and workloads, including vendor relationships and version support policies.
- Define estate organization and multi-tenancy strategies, including tenant boundaries, shared vs. dedicated clusters, and access/isolation models.
- Take ownership of new product areas as they emerge and expand scope as the platform grows.
Requirements
- 5+ years of product management experience on infrastructure products.
- Hands-on exposure to 2 or more platform families (ideally one public cloud and one on-prem).
- Deep understanding of Kubernetes cluster lifecycle, upgrades, and operators.
- Judgment regarding product maturity and appropriate investment strategies.
- Comfort with upstream ecosystems and tracking their costs and benefits.
- Clear written communication skills across different time zones and cultures.
- CKA/CKAD or similar hands-on Kubernetes certification is a plus.
