About the Role
OGX is seeking a Lead Barista to supervise daily café operations, including team member training and development, and delivering an exceptional guest experience. The Lead Barista will act as the Leader on Duty for the retail café, demonstrating leadership while collaborating with the team to achieve results.
Responsibilities
- Provide leadership and sound judgment to the Café Services team.
- Implement operations policies, processes, procedures, and standards for the café and food/beverage department.
- Train and develop a world-class retail café operations team.
- Actively participate in defining the team culture and incorporating it into café operations.
- Assist in establishing basic personnel standards for the café and food/beverage department.
- Participate in the Leader on Duty retail café rotation.
- Assess team effectiveness, provide feedback to management, and enforce disciplinary actions.
- Oversee inventory levels and notify management of re-order needs.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Must possess NYC Food Handler’s Certificate.
- Must be able to remain in a standing, stationary position more than 75% of the time.
- Must be able to work a minimum of three shifts, including one weekend day.
- Must be able to frequently move food service inventory and equipment weighing up to 25 pounds.
- Must be able to move about inside the retail coffee shop space.
- Must be able to work under pressure and in a fast-paced environment.
- Must be able to work a variable schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
