Responsibilities
- Performs and participates in decontamination, cleaning, assembling, packaging, sterilization, storage, and distribution of reusable surgical instrumentation and equipment.
- Operates equipment, restocks and inventories supplies, instruments, linen, and portable equipment.
- Performs preventive maintenance.
- Follows proper Standard Precautions in decontamination and sterilization areas.
- Monitors biological and chemical wash solutions for quality and consistency.
- Sorts mismatched instrument sets, trays, and medical equipment for timely availability.
- Verifies proper equipment function, requisitions maintenance or replacement, and removes defective equipment.
Requirements
- High School graduate or equivalence.
- Three years of experience in Central Service.
- Employee should have general learning ability, verbal understanding of English language, and ability to communicate effectively.
- Requires form perception and ability to comprehend computer printouts.
