About the Role
Join Cloudscaler as an AI Engineer Apprentice on a fully funded Level 6 apprenticeship. Learn to build, deploy, and operate AI and cloud solutions on live projects, supported by experienced professionals. No prior cloud or AI experience is needed; passion, aptitude, and curiosity are key. Over approximately 23 months, you will earn a degree-equivalent qualification, gain industry certifications, and develop professional engineering skills.
Responsibilities
- Provision and manage AWS resources using Terraform and infrastructure as code under supervision.
- Assist in resolving incidents in live operations and contribute to the knowledge base.
- Prototype, test, and move AI and machine learning solutions towards production.
- Produce architecture decision records (ADRs), post-incident reviews (PIRs), runbooks, and status updates.
- Record time accurately, work within Agile and Kanban frameworks, and participate in team ceremonies.
- Utilize AI tools like Claude for drafting, code review, and documentation, learning to assess AI output reliability.
Requirements
- A STEM background or strong numeracy and problem-solving ability.
- A clear desire to build a career in cloud and AI engineering.
- The discipline to study alongside working.
- Clear, honest communication, a collaborative attitude, and willingness to seek and act on feedback.
- Eligibility to obtain SC clearance.
- Exposure to Python, scripting, Terraform, Docker, or Linux is beneficial.
- Basic understanding of cloud computing concepts is beneficial.
- Evidence of completing projects or pursuing interests to a good standard is beneficial.
- Interest in responsible AI use in regulated settings is beneficial.
- Demonstrated passion for learning and acquiring new skills.
