About the Role
As a caretaker/building technician with a focus on electrical engineering, you will ensure the functionality and upkeep of our school building and grounds. This role involves a mix of electrical maintenance and general caretaker duties in an international school environment.
Responsibilities
- Perform general caretaker tasks, minor repairs, and maintenance in the school building and grounds.
- Maintain and perform minor repairs on electrical systems within your qualification.
- Monitor building technology (heating, ventilation, air conditioning, plumbing) and assist with technical issues.
- Identify, report, and address damages and defects.
- Accompany external craftspeople during maintenance and repair work.
- Support with security checks, locking services, and winter services.
- Assist with deliveries, moves, and setup/dismantling for school events.
- Serve as the point of contact for staff regarding technical and manual questions.
Requirements
- Completed vocational training as an electrician, electronics technician for energy and building technology, electrical installer, or comparable qualification.
- Ideally, experience in building technology, maintenance, and/or as a caretaker.
- Proficiency in electrical engineering and manual skills with a practical problem-solving approach.
- Versatile and willing to undertake classic caretaker tasks.
- Independent, reliable, and a team player.
- Basic computer skills and ability to work with digital systems.
- Fluent German language skills.
- A Class B driver's license is advantageous.
- Friendly, helpful, and enjoys working in a dynamic school environment.
