About the Role
Manage the everyday operation and upkeep of equipment and building, planning and implementing projects and safety issues within and around the plant.
Responsibilities
- Manages day-to-day activities of a team of direct reports and communicates daily with Maintenance Manager and/or Plant Manager.
- Supports operational departments by maintaining equipment and resolves mechanical malfunctions to increase productivity, job capabilities, and equipment capabilities at the department’s request.
- Establishes and maintains a positive work environment including personal development, training, and safety.
- Analyzes maintenance work orders and assigns maintenance personnel to complete all necessary orders, following up as needed.
- Plans and executes projects in conjunction with assignments from the Maintenance Manager and/or Plant Manager.
- Controls inventories, parts ordering, and vendor communication, focusing on improving operations and costs.
- Assists in scheduling the maintenance team to ensure project completion.
- Supports SQF by maintaining food safety and food quality through job tasks and maintaining a sanitary work area.
- Serves as backup to leadership roles within the Maintenance department, providing technical support and guidance.
- Performs other duties as assigned by the Plant Manager.
Requirements
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in maintenance within a plant or manufacturing industry.
- At least 3 years of supervisory or management experience required.
- Demonstrated experience within mechanical and electrical systems.
- Able to deal with frequent change, delays, or unexpected events.
- Identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner.
- Gathers and analyzes information skillfully.
- Inspires and motivates others to perform well.
