About the Role
We are looking for a Software Engineer to join our team and ship features that directly help enterprise clients' employees find the right support at the right time. This role offers an opportunity to deepen AI-assisted development skills in a team that is investing in them.
Responsibilities
- Ship features end-to-end, including design, coding, testing, deployment, and monitoring.
- Own the design for delivered features, making pragmatic choices and sensible trade-offs.
- Respond to incidents and bugs, improve observability, and uphold security and performance commitments.
- Address technical debt, refactor code, and upgrade dependencies.
- Embed AI into the development workflow using AI-assisted tools for scoping, designing, coding, reviewing, and documenting.
- Contribute to collective learning by sharing effective AI-assisted development practices.
Requirements
- Backend leaning but comfortable across the full stack.
- Strong software engineering fundamentals and curiosity to learn.
- Enjoy problem-solving from first principles.
- Ability to pick up new context quickly and ship impactful changes regularly.
- Understand what it takes to build reliable products for clients.
- Build with performance, security, and observability at the forefront.
- Produce simple, well-tested, and maintainable code.
- Comfortable tackling problems without a clear definition or obvious solution.
- Ability to find the leanest viable path forward.
- Understand the impact of trade-off decisions and choose lean over perfect when appropriate.
- Be explicit about deferred work and the reasons why.
- Comfortable with AI-assisted development practices, using AI tools as a core part of the development workflow.
- Apply curiosity and judgment to AI tools to understand where they accelerate development and where they do not.
