About the Role
In your role as Lead Accountant (m/w/d), you will take professional responsibility for defined companies within our group. You will ensure high-quality and timely financial accounting, manage monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, and continuously develop our accounting processes together with the Head of Accounting. You will also be a professional contact person for the accountants in your area of responsibility and work closely with internal stakeholders as well as external tax advisors and auditors.
Responsibilities
- Professional responsibility for financial accounting within our international corporate group.
- Management and quality assurance of ongoing accounting and review of complex booking transactions.
- Independent preparation or coordination of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Review and reconciliation of general ledger accounts, debtors, creditors, banks, and intercompany transactions.
- Ensuring correct, timely intercompany reconciliation.
- Professional guidance and support for accountants and review of their work.
- Coordination and collaboration with national and international tax advisors and auditors.
- Contact person for other departments on complex accounting issues.
- Ensuring and further developing accounting standards, chart of accounts guidelines, and internal controls.
- Identification of optimization and automation potential and active further development of accounting processes.
- Support for the Head of Accounting on group-wide accounting, closing, and reporting topics.
Requirements
- Several years of relevant professional experience in accounting, ideally 5+ years, with experience in independently managing companies and financial statements.
- Completed commercial or tax apprenticeship or business studies with a focus on Finance/Accounting; certified accountant or comparable additional qualification is an advantage.
- Very good knowledge of financial accounting and preparation of financial statements according to HGB.
- Confident handling of complex booking transactions as well as balance sheet and P&L accounts.
- Experience with intercompany accounting and ideally international company structures.
- Experience in collaborating with tax advisors and auditors.
- Comprehensive knowledge of DATEV and/or modern ERP systems; Odoo experience is an advantage.
- Structured, independent, and solution-oriented approach with a strong hands-on mentality.
- Ability to prioritize, take responsibility, and simultaneously maintain an overview of multiple companies and deadlines.
- Enjoyment in professionally supporting colleagues and sharing knowledge.
- Very good written and spoken German and English skills.
- Very good MS Office skills (especially Excel).
