About the Role
The Help Experience (HEX) team supports millions of Vinted members across 20+ markets, resolving issues quickly and efficiently. We are seeking a Senior Data Scientist to join the Ember team, which focuses on building the next generation of AI-powered support through conversational virtual assistants and automated resolution systems.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and scale LLM-powered virtual assistants and agents capable of multi-turn dialogue.
- Build decision systems and classification models for autonomous resolution and seamless handoff to human support.
- Implement and optimize Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), embeddings, prompt engineering, and fine-tuning techniques.
- Design offline and online LLM evaluation frameworks to ensure automated interactions are dependable.
- Deploy and serve models in low-latency, high-throughput production environments, monitoring for drift and performance degradation.
- Collaborate with Product Managers, Decision Scientists, and Customer Support Operations to identify automation opportunities and design A/B experiments.
Requirements
- Strong technical background and hands-on experience developing machine learning algorithms.
- Ability to translate research papers into clean, replicable code.
- Highly skilled in Python and SQL.
- Write clean, maintainable, and structured code valuing reproducibility, clarity, and performance.
- Ability to persuasively explain complex technical concepts and their business implications to non-data stakeholders.
- Understand why a model gave a certain score.
- Fluent in written and spoken English.
