About the Role
Better Living Health and Community Services has an opening for a seasonal Snow Removal Worker position, assisting senior clients with snow plowing.
Responsibilities
- Operate, care for, and properly store equipment and tools, such as snow blowers.
- Load and unload materials, tools, and equipment for daily job assignments.
- Conduct snow removal services for senior clients.
- Clear and de-ice parking lots, sidewalks, steps, loading docks, and emergency exits.
- Conduct service quotes and review job requirements with senior clients.
- Be flexible and adaptable to changes in daily schedules.
- Demonstrate good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Be reliable, punctual, and accountable to commitments.
- Work independently and as part of a team.
Requirements
- Valid driver’s G Ontario license for a minimum of 5 years with a clean driver's abstract.
- No major infractions/suspensions for positions involving a licensed vehicle.
- Own Automobile Insurance with a Third Party Liability of no less than $1,000,000.
- Ability to demonstrate skills to operate equipment required for the position.
- Excellent driving skills to safely maneuver or reverse vehicles/equipment in confined areas and around obstacles.
- Commitment throughout the season (November to March).
- Ability to work irregular shifts and extended hours as required.
- Ability to lift and carry objects up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to perform the physical aspects of the job.
