About the Role
We are seeking a Data Scientist to join our interdisciplinary team, focusing on challenging Data Science projects with a clear business focus. You will identify customer needs, conceptualize and develop data-driven solutions, extract relevant data, and communicate findings effectively.
Responsibilities
- Design and lead challenging Data Science projects with a clear business focus in an interdisciplinary team.
- Routinely identify customer needs.
- Conceptualize and develop effective, data-driven solutions and accompany their commissioning.
- Extract relevant and crucial data from customer datasets.
- Develop innovative solutions using modern methods in statistics, machine learning, mathematical optimization, and visual analytics.
- Successfully communicate results and findings to clients.
- Accompany the comprehensive implementation of your ideas together with the Data Engineering team.
- Participate regularly in customer meetings and occasionally in external events as a subject matter expert.
Requirements
- Completed degree in Business Informatics, Business Mathematics, Computer Science, Chemistry, Physics, Statistics, Mathematics, or a comparable degree program with a strong quantitative focus.
- Minimum of 3 years of full-time professional experience in Data Science and AI Engineering, ideally in consulting, IT services, or other customer-oriented roles.
- Demonstrable success in Business Analytics, particularly in the conception, development, and operation of Data Use Cases.
- Very good analytical and conceptual thinking skills, pronounced understanding of data modeling and analysis, and knowledge of software development.
- Expertise in common analytics toolboxes, especially the programming language Python (and relevant libraries), visualization solutions (like Tableau/Power BI), and databases and big data technologies.
- Industry-specific knowledge for Retail and Consumer is an advantage.
- Experience with cloud technologies (AWS, Azure, DBX) and data platforms (Snowflake, MS Fabric, DBX).
- Enjoy project-based work, be customer-oriented, and possess strong communication and presentation skills.
- Fluent German and English language skills, both written and spoken, are required.
