About the Role
As a Team Leader Cost Estimation (m/w/d), you will be responsible for the professional and disciplinary leadership of our cost estimation team. You will act as a link between the Head of Offer Management and the cost estimation team, ensuring operational leadership, reliable resource management, and high professional quality in cost estimations. You will support the Head of Offer Management in leadership and management tasks, creating the conditions for our estimators to handle complex turnkey construction projects in a structured, economical, and robust manner.
Responsibilities
- Professional and disciplinary leadership of the cost estimation team and organization of daily operations.
- Support the professional development of employees and implement individual development measures in close coordination with the Head of Offer Management.
- Project-related assignment of estimators and prioritization and management of ongoing estimation tasks.
- Coordination and quality assurance of estimations for complex turnkey construction projects within the overall offer process.
- Evaluation of essential estimation approaches, quantities, cost benchmarks, and assumptions.
- Preparation of estimators and their projects for internal price committees and support in preparing opportunities, risks, and essential estimation assumptions.
- Ensuring structured identification and evaluation of technical and economic project risks and opportunities.
- Close collaboration with the Head of Offer Management as well as with tendering/awarding, purchasing, work preparation, project management, and management.
- Further development of collaboration between BIM modeling and cost estimation and gradual improvement of model-based estimation processes.
- Further development and standardization of estimation methods, benchmarks, templates, and digital workflows, especially in RIB iTWO.
- Professional support in bid discussions and contract negotiations.
Requirements
- Completed degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a comparable technical qualification, such as a Construction Technician.
- Several years of in-depth experience in the estimation of complex construction projects, ideally in turnkey construction on the general contractor or general subcontractor side.
- Experience in professional and/or disciplinary leadership and enjoyment of guiding employees in daily operations, delegating responsibility, and supporting their professional development together with the senior management.
- Sound understanding of quantities, services, cost structures, subcontractor services, and technical and economic project risks.
- Very good knowledge of modern estimation processes; experience with RIB iTWO and model-based estimation / BIM is advantageous.
- Strong economic understanding, analytical strength, and the ability to reduce complex issues to the key levers.
- Clear, binding leadership style, decisiveness, and confident communication with employees, project teams, business partners, and management.
