About the Role
As a Senior Data Scientist, you will lead high-impact AI projects and shape the technical direction of bespoke solutions for clients in the retail and consumer sector. You will define data science approaches, design software architectures, mentor colleagues, and ensure delivery rigor. Additionally, you will build client relationships and enhance Faculty's reputation as a leader in practical AI.
Responsibilities
- Lead project teams delivering bespoke algorithms and AI solutions to clients in the retail and consumer sector.
- Translate complex business problems into data science solutions and map end-to-end approaches.
- Design software architecture for data science solutions with engineering colleagues.
- Partner with commercial teams to build client relationships and shape project scope.
- Own the technical client relationship and assist in business development.
- Estimate delivery timelines and lead teams to meet demanding schedules.
- Support the professional growth of data scientists through mentorship, coaching, and feedback.
- Uphold best practices, including embedding responsible AI thinking throughout the project lifecycle.
- Contribute to hiring at Faculty.
Requirements
- Senior experience in a professional data science position or a quantitative academic field.
- Broad knowledge of state-of-the-art ML and AI, with the ability to apply it to complex data science problems.
- Rigorous validation standards to ensure reliable model performance in real-world conditions.
- Ability to scope projects by assessing technical feasibility and breaking down complex workstreams.
- Clear communication skills, translating sophisticated models and quantitative findings into actionable strategy.
- Commitment to accountability, transparency, and responsible AI.
- Enjoyment of mentoring and developing other data scientists.
