About the Role
Petra is building an AI-driven Detection and Response platform to catch and remove attackers before they can act. This role is a rare chance to join early and help scale to $30M+ in revenue in the next 12 months.
Responsibilities
- Build and evolve core ML detection research and models.
- Design and build ML models that identify account compromise in real time.
- Take models from research to production, measuring their behavior at scale in a live system.
- Architect and implement solutions to handle significant scale increases.
- Develop and push the technical bar, establishing patterns and raising quality.
- Talk to customers to understand attacks they are facing and creatively find new detection signals.
Requirements
- 1-4 years of quantitative/machine learning research experience.
- Meaningful time designing, training, evaluating, and shipping models in production systems at scale.
- Strong quantitative fundamentals: probability & statistics, linear algebra, linear and non-linear modeling, NLP.
- Experience training & deploying models in production, understanding the limitations of each approach.
- Strong engineering fundamentals, writing clean, production-grade code.
- Comfortable contributing to systems end to end.
- Experience working with real-time or streaming data pipelines, feature stores, high-performance databases, and distributed systems.
- High agency and high output: identify problems, propose solutions, and execute.
- Ability to learn quickly, ask the right questions, and figure things out.
- Ability to ship fast and find the 90/10 solution.
- Comfortable in a small-team, high-autonomy environment.
- Proud of building things that work well and hold up over time.
