About the Role
Drive electrical system architecture and circuit design for medical devices, spanning wearables to active implants. Work across the full stack of low-power medical electronics, from novel sensing modalities and sensor front-ends to wireless power and communication systems, taking designs from concept through validation.
Responsibilities
- Architect and design EE systems integrating compute, sensing, power, and communications within tightly power- and space-constrained form factors.
- Explore, evaluate, and prototype novel sensing modalities and sensor interfaces.
- Design and characterize analog/mixed-signal circuits for wearable and implantable applications.
- Develop custom wireless power transfer systems with a focus on high end-to-end efficiency.
- Perform EM simulations to design and optimize wireless power coils and communication antennas.
- Contribute to ASIC architecture definition, develop new analog/mixed-signal modules and IP, and lead post-silicon validation.
- Develop and own PCBAs from schematic capture and layout through bring-up, debug, and design iteration.
Requirements
- Master's or PhD in Electrical Engineering or related field. Equivalent experience and exceptional capabilities will be considered.
- Specialist expertise in one or more of: mixed-signal ASIC development, wireless power systems, radios and antennas.
- Experience in analog/mixed-signal circuit design experience (simulation, characterization, statistical validation).
- Experience developing systems with MCUs and FPGAs.
- Experience with RF/EM simulation tools and methods (e.g., Ansys HFSS, CST Studio Suite, Ansys Maxwell, or equivalent).
- Hands-on lab proficiency with instruments such as oscilloscopes, spectrum and vector network analyzers, impedance analyzers, and source measure units.
- Functional knowledge of C, Python, and Verilog.
- Comfortable working across hardware, firmware, mechanical, and software boundaries and collaborating with cross-functional device teams.
