About the Role
As Assistant Night Manager, you will step up as a leader of the night shift, with real ownership, responsibility, and the opportunity to develop your career path within a landmark luxury hotel.
Responsibilities
- Lead the night shift, supervising the Night Auditor and team across Front Office, lobby, portering, and in-room dining.
- Oversee the night audit in Opera PMS, ensuring all transactions are balanced and finalized on time.
- Manage overbookings, security incidents, intoxicated guests, and complaints with sound judgment and empathy.
- Maintain a visible lobby presence, greet guests, and inspect public and back-of-house areas.
- Brief, coach, and train night team members.
- Deliver a clear operational and financial handover to the day management team.
Requirements
- Front Office or Night Audit experience in a hotel, ideally luxury.
- Confident knowledge of night audit, cash handling, credit control, and banking.
- Experience leading a team overnight with limited senior support.
- Calm, professional approach to complaints and security incidents.
- Current NSW RSA and First Aid certificate.
- Excellent written and spoken English.
- Availability for overnight shifts, weekends, and public holidays.
- Full working rights in Australia.
Skills
- Opera PMS or similar property management system proficiency (desirable)
