About the Role
VIZ Media is seeking a Business Operations Associate to join their Original Publishing team. This role supports the Senior Publishing Director in facilitating publishing operations, ensuring information dissemination, updating databases, and managing metadata and sales information. The position involves close collaboration with various departments and ensuring compliance with licensor systems and contract administration.
Responsibilities
- Gather and deliver metadata and materials for print and digital publishing distribution.
- Coordinate with Editorial, Publishing Production, and Publishing Operations to ensure data accuracy.
- Navigate internal databases and trackers, communicating updates and changes.
- Provide product information and materials to Sales and Marketing.
- Ensure compliance with Licensor submission requirements and system maintenance.
- Assist with submitting contract requests and ongoing contractual negotiations.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- 2+ years of relevant business experience, preferably in an administrative capacity in publishing or a relevant industry.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Intermediate experience in Excel, particularly with large datasets.
- Ability to prioritize and balance multiple projects simultaneously and manage time effectively.
- Proactive approach to projects.
- Ability to communicate and interact professionally with culturally diverse clients, vendors, and staff.
- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university, or equivalent experience.
- Willingness to work with content that may include sexually explicit images, nudity, and graphic violence.
