About the Role
Join a central team of talented Data Scientists working on impactful problem areas like Search, Personalisation, Content Moderation, Trust & Safety, AI led Automation, Computer Vision, and Conversation AI (NLP).
Responsibilities
- Ship and improve models in production, managing the end-to-end ML model development lifecycle.
- Adapt existing services or build new features to address ad-hoc business needs.
- Own data pipelines for data preparation, feature processing, training, and deployment.
- Run and interpret A/B tests to determine model effectiveness.
- Utilize AI tools to enhance work speed and quality.
- Collaborate on domains including Search, Recommendations, Sell Form, Listing Understanding, and Trust & Safety.
- Partner with Product Managers and other engineers to identify data science solutions for product and business challenges.
- Contribute to a culture of continuous learning and sharing with other data scientists.
- Build multimodal understanding for the sell form, extracting attributes from images and text to auto-fill listing details.
- Improve search and recommendations, covering candidate generation, semantic retrieval, ranking, and relevance evaluation.
- Perform hands-on analysis of Chinese-language data, including listing text and search queries from Hong Kong and Taiwan.
Requirements
- 3+ years of applied ML engineering or data science experience, with a proven track record of solving product and business problems using machine learning.
- Working proficiency in English and Mandarin or Cantonese, with the ability to analyze Chinese-language data.
- Solid foundation in mathematics, programming, and ML/DL fundamentals.
- Good programming ability in Python and SQL.
- Experience with machine learning frameworks and libraries such as PyTorch, Tensorflow, Keras, Spark MLlib, or Sklearn.
