About the Role
The DevOps Portal Experience team in Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) is seeking a Senior Full-Stack Engineer to enhance the tools OCI engineers use for building, deploying, and operating cloud services, thereby improving developer productivity and tool reliability. This role involves owning features end-to-end, building scalable services, and creating intuitive user experiences within applications that combine React/TypeScript frontends with backend services and APIs.
Responsibilities
- Own features end to end.
- Build scalable and reliable services.
- Create intuitive user experiences.
- Collaborate with experienced engineers on technical design.
- Support junior engineers through code reviews and technical guidance.
Requirements
- Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 5+ years of experience developing backend services and RESTful APIs using Java, Go, or C#.
- 3+ years of experience developing web applications using JavaScript or TypeScript, HTML, and CSS.
- Strong computer science fundamentals, including algorithms, data structures, distributed systems, and networking.
- Ability to independently own complex features from design through delivery.
- Manage competing priorities.
- Support junior engineers in meeting commitments.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to explain technical decisions and work effectively across teams.
- Experience building production services with Java frameworks such as Spring Boot, Helidon, or Dropwizard.
- Experience building interactive web applications with React or another modern JavaScript framework.
- Proficiency with modern JavaScript features and development practices (ES6+).
- Familiarity with Linux/Unix environments and troubleshooting.
- Familiarity with functional programming concepts and their practical application.
- Experience developing, deploying, or operating applications on cloud platforms.
