About the Role
99 Ranch Market is the largest Asian supermarket chain in the United States, seeking to shape the Asian Supermarket culture within the grocery industry. We are committed to providing the best products and services and are expanding our footprint across the country.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the preparation of all food items, including washing, cutting, and weighing.
- Assist in the transfer or withdrawal of stocks, supplies, packaging materials, and food ingredients to and from cold or dry storage.
- Monitor product expiration dates to ensure timely stocking and removal of older products.
- Maintain cleanliness of the food production area, including floors, walls, countertops, and tables.
- Perform regular cleaning of hood filters and sanitation of all used equipment.
- Follow food safety practices and comply with OSHA safety practices for dishwashing chemicals.
- Handle expired and recalled products properly and maintain accurate logs.
- Set up and take down displays for promotional products, ensuring correct shelf labeling.
- Keep refrigerators neat and well-stocked, with promotional items visible.
- Keep aisles and common walking areas clean and clear of debris.
- Assist customers with orders and answer questions.
- Follow all cash handling procedures and complete the check-out process accurately.
- Perform other duties as required for business needs.
Requirements
- Previous kitchen, culinary, deli, restaurant, kitchen management, cooking or customer service experience is preferred.
- Ability to follow instructions and procedures.
- Working knowledge of ingredients, vegetables, and meats carried in the department.
- Working knowledge of CAL-OSHA safety practices in the use of all dishwashing chemicals is preferred.
- Standing for extended periods is commonly required.
- Good manual dexterity for the use of processing equipment such as cutter or labeling.
- Ability to lift 30 lbs. or more with appropriate equipment.
