About the Role
The Community Growth organization at Twitch is focused on driving audience growth, engagement, and revenue for streamers by designing and implementing features that enhance viewer experiences. This role involves developing consumer-facing features for both web and mobile platforms, with a primary focus on React-heavy frontend development, while also contributing to backend systems. The ideal candidate will become an expert in these platforms and influence feature development.
Responsibilities
- Deliver high quality user experiences across Web and Mobile surfaces
- Partner with product managers, designers, and engineers to design, develop, launch, and operate consumer-facing features
- Work backwards from customer problems to drive business impact
- Participate in design and code reviews
- Maintain and improve the backend services behind our features
Requirements
- Minimum of Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or prior relevant engineering experiences
- 1+ years of professional engineering experience building consumer-facing products at scale
- Experience communicating complicated technical problems to both technical and business audiences
- A track record of thinking through and shipping quality user experiences
- Enthusiasm for AI driven engineering practices and a continuous desire to optimize development lifecycles using modern automated tools.
Skills
- React Native experience
- Go, or other backend languages
- AWS experience (ECS, DynamoDB, Lambda, SQS, Step Functions)
- Familiarity with Twitch, gaming, and/or streaming
- Software development for the gaming community
