About the Role

Empire Merchants North is seeking a high-energy, results-driven Field Sales Manager to lead, coach, and develop a team of sales professionals while driving sales growth and strong customer relationships in the Rochester market.

Responsibilities

Achieve company and supplier sales, distribution, and execution objectives by leading, coaching, and developing a team of sales representatives.
Pre-plan sales periods by holding one-on-one meetings with sales representatives to strategize goal achievement.
Conduct weekly sales meetings to communicate objectives, identify opportunities, review performance, and guide team members.
Develop and review performance enhancement plans for sales representatives, including training, evaluations, and coaching.
Address skill deficiencies through customized coaching plans and progress tracking.
Demonstrate strong customer orientation by maintaining key account relationships, identifying opportunities, conducting business reviews, and resolving complaints.
Participate in the employee interview and selection process, including sourcing, scheduling, interviewing, and onboarding.
Manage supplier surveys by planning routes, pre-surveying accounts, conducting surveys with suppliers, and recapping results.
Coordinate supplier ride-withs by scheduling sales representatives with Business Managers.
Resolve customer issues related to returns and breakage.
Complete all necessary training programs.
Maintain professional and industry knowledge through workshops, publications, and networking.
Maintain a safe and clean working environment.
Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
Provide day-to-day leadership, coaching, training, performance management, and employee development for assigned sales representatives.
Manage hiring, onboarding, performance evaluations, recognition, and corrective action in partnership with Human Resources and senior sales leadership.
