About the Role
Activities Aides play a vital role in creating meaningful and engaging experiences for our residents. This position allows you to make a direct, positive impact on residents’ daily lives through social, recreational, and therapeutic programs.
Responsibilities
- Organize and conduct activities including crafts, music programs, exercise groups, sensory activities, videos/movies, social activities, and daily life skill programs tailored to residents’ abilities
- Assist with 1:1 interactions and group activities on assigned units
- Set up, maintain, and decorate activity areas to ensure a safe, efficient, and pleasant environment
- Transport and seat residents for activities, meals, or special events
- Monitor residents during programs, including those who may wander away
- Assist with meal tray service and transportation to and from meals
Requirements
- Experience in recreation, activities, or direct care preferred
- Compassionate, dependable, and positive attitude
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to engage residents in meaningful activities and adapt to individual needs
