About the Role

ELMI AI is building a software platform to intelligently control charging stations and battery storage systems. This platform will read and process data from energy management systems, analyze competitor pricing, dynamically adjust its own pricing, optimize battery recharge strategies, and engage in active energy trading. We are looking for an experienced Software Engineer with architectural expertise to help build this robust, production-ready software product from its early stages.

Responsibilities

Co-design and build a scalable cloud architecture on AWS for the ELMI-AI platform.
Evaluate, further develop, and partially rebuild existing module prototypes into a stable, first production version.
Connect and process data from the energy management systems of our charging stations and battery storage systems.
Technically implement market analysis of surrounding charging stations and automated, dynamic price adjustments.
Develop logic and algorithms to optimize the recharge strategy of internal battery storage.
Technically implement interfaces and trading logic for automated energy trading.
Collaborate closely with the development team (including nearshore team), including code reviews and participation in technology decisions.
Actively develop code, especially during the critical build-up phase of the first stable version.

Requirements

Several years of experience as a Software Engineer, ideally with experience building a software product from an early phase.
Proven experience in building and operating AWS infrastructure.
Hands-on mentality: enjoys coding and takes responsibility for topics from conception to operation.
Experience with software controlling distributed, physical assets (e.g., IoT platforms, fleet or asset management, smart grid).
Experience collaborating with (remote/nearshore) development teams.
Makes technical decisions appropriate for the current company size, avoiding over-engineering.
Fluent German and very good English for collaboration with the international team.
Mandarin language skills are a big plus.
