About the Role
Red Hat Consulting is seeking a Telco Consultant in Tokyo, Japan, to provide technical leadership and architectural guidance on Red Hat's cloud solutions. You will build relationships with customer teams, acting as a trusted advisor to architects and IT leaders, and will be involved in pre-sales discovery, post-sales design, and implementation governance.
Responsibilities
- Deliver discovery and design workshops to shape customer journeys and adoption of solutions in the telecommunications industry.
- Design and scope delivery projects and lead consulting teams through successful customer pilot and production deployments.
- Design, create, and deliver content to enable scalable sales, service, and support of NFV solutions.
- Collaborate with Red Hat presales, Customer Success (Support), and Sales teams to ensure an excellent customer experience.
- Contribute to the development of methodologies and tools to scale Red Hat's services capabilities, promote repeatable customer engagements, and lower delivery risks.
- Demonstrate thought leadership in the telco community through whitepapers, webinars, and industry conference speaking.
- Collaborate with regional and global telco services teams, sharing ideas, best practices, and providing guidance to peers.
Requirements
- Experience designing complex customer solutions in a rapidly evolving technological field.
- 5+ years of experience in a solutions architect, enterprise architect, or consultant role related to infrastructure solutions delivery.
- 5+ years of experience focused on cloud environments and their supporting infrastructures.
- Proven experience in generating opportunities through customer interactions.
- Solid operational and management experience with hybrid platforms.
- Background in customer engagement with a major consulting services organization or a services division of a major software company.
- Proven track record of working in a strategic advisory capacity to senior IT and business executives and/or stakeholders.
- Broad and deep experience across Red Hat OpenStack, Red Hat OpenShift, Red Hat Enterprise Linux, and Ansible.
- Working knowledge of cloud architectures and their supporting infrastructures.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including experience presenting to senior business and technology leaders.
- Proven ability to work seamlessly with teams across multiple departments and geographies.
- Balance of strategic and tactical skills with a capacity for innovative thinking.
- Passion for open source, software, tooling, and automation.
- Willingness to travel.
- Good English language skills.
- Broad industry experience across multiple verticals and within the telecommunications vertical is a plus.
