About the Role
Lead the team responsible for machine learning that values Australian residential property and the AI platform used by Domain. This is a hands-on leadership role involving technical direction, prototyping, and system oversight across mature, agentic, and foundational data systems.
Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor, and grow a team of senior machine learning, data, and platform engineers.
- Define and maintain Domain's AI platform and its maturity roadmap.
- Take end-to-end accountability for the machine learning that prices Australian residential property.
- Own the pipelines, warehouse infrastructure, and published data products supporting models and the platform.
Requirements
- Substantial experience in AI/ML or data engineering, including several years leading and growing engineering teams.
- Ability to design, prototype, and lead technical approaches through to production.
- Strong foundation in production ML systems and MLOps, including deployment, CI/CD/CT pipelines, monitoring, drift detection, and managing reliability, scalability, and cost.
- Practical experience deploying generative AI applications (LLM/VLM or agent-based) beyond prototype, including evaluation, guardrails, and operational aspects.
- Solid grounding in the modern data stack, including cloud warehouses (e.g., Snowflake), transformation frameworks (e.g., dbt), and schedulers (e.g., Airflow).
- Fluency with a major cloud platform (AWS preferred), including infrastructure as code.
- Experience owning or building an AI/ML platform and shaping its capability roadmap.
- Experience in property, marketplaces, or large-scale consumer data products.
- A degree in a related field.
- Contribution to the AI/ML community through speaking, writing, or other means.
