About the Role
Lead and oversee Korea-wide transformation, simplification, and automation initiatives, from ideation through delivery and benefits realization. Drive adoption of AI and data platforms to improve colleague productivity and operational efficiency.
Responsibilities
- Establish and run regular governance forums and meetings to analyze technology trends, define local technology strategy, assess new technologies, and track delivery status.
- Apply hands-on development and technical solutioning skills to translate business problems into technology solutions, design prototypes, build and test solutions, and support transition to production.
- Identify high-impact use cases with Business and Operations and take them through development and delivery.
- Own Tech Finance management for the function and portfolio, including budget planning, tracking, cost optimization, and reporting.
Requirements
- Minimum 5+ years of experience in the financial services industry with a strong understanding of banking.
- Hands-on experience in technology development and/or production support for core banking systems or processes.
- Demonstrated ability to combine technology strategy, consultancy, and hands-on development.
- Practical experience applying AI/Data platforms/Cloud technologies.
- Hands-on Python development experience.
- Demonstrated experience managing or governing Technology financials.
- Strong stakeholder management and consultancy skills.
- Ability to influence across a matrix organization.
- Ability to contribute effectively to governance and working forums.
- English is mandatory.
- Korean is preferred.
- Must be able to work based in HSBC Korea — onshore presence required.
