About the Role
Hardy Industries is seeking skilled Fiber Testing and Splicing Technicians to support a growing national client base. This role involves certifying fiber links, troubleshooting network impairments, performing fusion splicing, replacing jumpers, and identifying faults across critical infrastructure.
Responsibilities
- Perform fiber optic splicing using fusion and mechanical techniques.
- Conduct OTDR testing, power meter testing, light source testing, and fiber certification.
- Perform fiber continuity testing and fault-distance identification.
- Inspect, clean, and remediate connectors.
- Troubleshoot patch-cords and replace fiber jumpers.
- Install, terminate, and test single-mode and multi-mode fiber optic cabling.
- Identify and troubleshoot customer-premise and network-side impairments.
- Document test results, splicing records, and project deliverables.
- Work independently across various environments including retail, medical, restaurant, corporate, telecommunications, and data center facilities.
- Maintain a high standard of professionalism with clients and project stakeholders.
- Accept service requests within coverage territory based on availability.
Requirements
- At least 1 year of Fiber, I.T., or Telecom experience, and one of the following: FOA Certification, CFOT Certification, BICSI Certification, Network+ Certification OR 5+ years verifiable Fiber, I.T., or Telecom field experience.
- Reliable personal vehicle.
- Valid driver's license.
- Must have a standard set of fiber optic and telecommunications tools.
- Laptop capable of documenting test results and accessing project documentation.
- Smartphone with mobile hotspot.
- Ability to safely handle and operate fiber testing and splicing equipment.
- Ability to accept job assignments based on availability; being available for emergency or after-hours work is a strong advantage.
- Strong attention to detail, punctuality, professionalism, and quality workmanship.
