About the Role

EDC helps Canadian businesses succeed abroad by providing financial tools and expertise to explore new markets and reduce risks, aiming to build a better Canada and world through trade. This role focuses on developing and advancing AI capabilities within software development.

Responsibilities

  • Leverage strong global application engineering expertise (React, Angular, JavaScript/TypeScript, .NET, APIs, cloud services, modern DevOps) to design, develop, and operate an agentic OS for the software development lifecycle.
  • Design practical agentic workflows to automate common development activities (e.g., requirements definition, scaffolding, test execution, code analysis, structured validation).
  • Integrate AI-assisted development into execution workflows using tools like GitHub Copilot, Azure DevOps, GitHub Enterprise, and Azure AI Foundry capabilities.
  • Define target state in collaboration with analysts, architects, developers, testers, and deployment leads to identify execution efforts, bottlenecks, and rework, prioritizing high-value agent use cases.
  • Design specialized agents for specific tasks, delegation models, approved/restricted tools, designated human approval points, and controlled context/state management.
  • Implement a secure mechanism for retrieving authorized tasks, source repositories, design documents, and meeting records, applying source-specific access rights based on agent identity.
  • Implement integrations with version control systems, work tracking tools, CI/CD pipelines, testing platforms, and telemetry services.
  • Create reference implementations, repository standards, reusable templates, integration guidelines, and engineering conventions for other execution teams.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field such as Computer Science or Computer Engineering.
  • Minimum of 7 years of hands-on software engineering experience (global applications) and implementing organization-wide production systems, including web applications, APIs, microservices, integrations, and cloud-native solutions.
  • Strong global application development expertise and proficiency in front-end and back-end development technologies including Angular, React, JavaScript/TypeScript, .NET, APIs, microservices, integration patterns, and cloud-native architectures.
  • Experience using GitHub and modern development platforms as the system of record for software engineering activities, including pull request management, code reviews, branching strategies, repository governance, automation, and engineering telemetry.
  • Experience designing, developing, and integrating AI-assisted development experiences, AI agents, copilots, or agentic capabilities related to the software development lifecycle into software execution workflows.
  • Strong background in cloud architecture, identity management, networking, platform engineering, and security controls, with the ability to ensure AI and software deployment solutions meet governance, risk, privacy, and compliance requirements.
  • Experience creating reusable engineering assets, frameworks, standards, reference implementations, templates, and accelerators for use across multiple teams and product portfolios.
  • Experience developing Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG) solutions, enterprise knowledge grounding, semantic search, and secure retrieval patterns with access control.
  • Experience in enterprise application architecture, distributed systems, microservices, API-first design, and event-driven integration patterns.
  • Advanced knowledge of Web Services and integration technologies (REST, JSON, SOAP, OpenAPI, enterprise integration patterns).
  • Advanced knowledge of Identity and Access Management (OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, Entra ID/Azure AD, workload identities, secure application authentication).
