About the Role
This role focuses on analysis and problem solving, supporting and partnering with Portfolio Managers, Industry Analysts, and Research Analysts to maximize the utility of the in-house research and portfolio analysis platform. The individual will troubleshoot issues and advise on system functionality, requiring significant interaction with business users.
Responsibilities
- Interact directly and proactively with investment professionals at all levels as a trusted advisor.
- Engage with IT, Operations, and Investment colleagues to understand business processes and application usage.
- Answer or research functional and technical questions from business partners and colleagues using business process/application knowledge.
- Manage production incidents, ensure appropriate escalation, assist in root cause determination, and prioritize application fixes based on risk and ROI.
- Respond to requests for ad hoc analysis and other information delivery solutions.
- Engage in testing new system functionality, provide end-user training, and ensure appropriate support processes for system changes.
- Proactively identify issues and opportunities for improved methods and approaches to support investment processes.
Requirements
- Minimum 3 years of experience in an application support team/environment within the financial services industry.
- Experience with investment data concepts including holdings, transactions, security master, analytics, and performance.
- Understanding of financial instruments such as equities, bonds, swaps, options, futures, forwards, and FX.
- Hands-on SQL knowledge for data extraction and analysis to troubleshoot and fix issues.
- Proactive analytical and problem-solving skills in investment management systems and data technologies.
- Hands-on experience working directly with investment professionals.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- High attention to detail and strong commitment to delivering quality, professional work.
- Willingness and ability to work independently and as part of a global team in a fast-paced, business-critical environment.
- Experience in using AI tools such as Claude/GitHub Co-Pilot is advantageous.
- CFA Institute Claritas Certificate, CFA Charter, or progress towards one is considered an asset.
