About the Role
Mesirow Currency is seeking a motivated Software Engineer to help develop our proprietary systems. This is a high growth, high visibility area with plenty of opportunities to enhance your skillset and build your career. Your work will have immediate, tangible impact: the systems you support are critical to our daily business operations. You will work alongside experienced engineers and business stakeholders, taking ownership of well-scoped features while building your knowledge of our systems and the currency-management business.
Responsibilities
- Own delivery of features and enhancements to portfolio management and trading systems, addressing changing business needs.
- Develop and maintain reliable, performant production applications with attention to correctness and maintainability.
- Participate in an agile team dynamic, owning testing through test automation, and driving DevOps capabilities and CI/CD across environments.
- Leverage authorized AI tools to improve SDLC velocity and increase system reliability.
- Contribute to code reviews, refactoring, and improvements informed by testing, performance measurements, and production feedback.
- Investigate and resolve application issues, collaborating with other engineers on complex problems.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field.
- Experience in application development and testing in C# or equivalent.
- Hands-on experience with modern front-end frameworks such as React.
- Experience in designing and building APIs.
- Solid understanding of relational databases.
- Knowledge of observability, including monitoring, logging, and alerting.
- DevOps experience, Git-based workflows, and CI/CD.
- Self-starter with strong ownership, problem-solving skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-moving environment.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to translate business requirements into practical solutions and work effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
