About the Role

SumUp Consumer is seeking an individual to provide sharp, reliable insight into how people discover, adopt, and use the product, and how that behavior translates into business outcomes. This role will be the go-to person for leadership, providing an honest read of the business and influencing real product and commercial decisions with data analysis.

Responsibilities

  • Shape commercial decisions by owning the SumUp Consumer KPI framework end-to-end.
  • Define key metrics, their measurement, and their connection to customer behavior and commercial outcomes.
  • Evaluate growth quality, including CAC, source attribution, channel performance, and downstream customer value.
  • Integrate fraud, abuse, and economic loss considerations into customer, channel, and market assessments.
  • Drive product decisions by diagnosing customer drop-off points and identifying behaviors that drive repeat usage, retention, and lifetime value.
  • Design and analyze A/B tests and product experiments to assess customer and commercial impact.
  • Assist Product Managers in sizing opportunities and evaluating feature outcomes.
  • Act as an independent analytical partner to Consumer leadership, Product, Growth, Finance, and Risk teams.
  • Proactively surface trends, risks, and opportunities.
  • Challenge assumptions, metric definitions, and interpretations constructively.
  • Build trusted reporting and enable self-service for routine questions.
  • Utilize AI and LLM-assisted techniques to accelerate analysis and insight generation.

Requirements

  • Formulate independent views on business issues and recommend actions, not just report findings.
  • Demonstrated experience influencing senior stakeholders with data, including changing decisions or assumptions.
  • Understanding of digital consumer product economics (acquisition, activation, retention, churn, CLV, unit economics).
  • Fluency in product analytics (funnel, cohort, segmentation, behavioral analysis).
  • Strong SQL skills for querying, analyzing, and validating data in cloud data warehouses (e.g., Snowflake, BigQuery).
  • Experience with visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Looker, Power BI) for building stakeholder-reliant reporting.
  • Ability to translate ambiguous questions into structured analyses and communicate clearly to diverse audiences.
  • Prioritization based on business impact and ability to manage multiple stakeholders and workstreams.
