About the Role
The Senior Accountant will work closely with the Foundation’s Finance Department providing financial information by maintaining and reconciling accounts, preparing reports, and offering additional support as needed.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and maintain financial records.
- Complete special projects.
- Correct errors by posting adjusting journal entries.
- Maintain general ledger accounts by reconciling accounts receivable details and accounts payable ledgers.
- Keep information confidential.
- Maintain accounting controls by following policies and procedures.
- Comply with federal, state, and local financial legal requirements.
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of experience.
- Experience with QuickBooks and/or Sage (preferred).
- Strong leadership and management skills.
- Excellent communication & writing skills.
- Detail oriented.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively.
- Strong ethical standards.
- Ability to multitask multiple projects and supervise personnel.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
- Pre-employment screening, including a background check, is required.
