About the Role

Forerunner is seeking its first dedicated Sr. Manager - Events to own the strategy, budget, and execution of in-person market engagement. This role involves managing event participation, building relationships with organizing associations, and ensuring effective sales team engagement at conferences and other industry gatherings.

Responsibilities

  • Own the event portfolio and its budget, building the annual plan for conference and association meeting attendance.
  • Run conferences end to end, including booth presence, collateral, speaking submissions, pre-booked meetings, and on-site execution.
  • Manage vendors and physical footprint, including sourcing, negotiating, and managing quality and timelines.
  • Build smaller, higher-intent events such as lunch and learns, association sessions, themed dinners, and regional gatherings.
  • Make the sales team effective at events through playbooks, pre-event briefs, meeting targets, and follow-up expectations.
  • Build association partnerships, including sponsorship negotiations, speaking slots, co-hosted webinars, and placement in member communications.
  • Own the number by setting targets for meetings booked and pipeline generated per event, reporting against them, and using results to reshape future plans.
  • Travel 30–40% of the time.

Requirements

  • Have 6+ years of marketing, B2B events, field marketing, or partnerships experience with a record of hitting goals.
  • Experience in govtech or public sector SaaS is preferred.
  • Have run events or partner programs where the goal was pipeline, not attendance.
  • Possess a strong point of view and hands-on execution capabilities.
  • Know how to work with associations or channel partners, including negotiating sponsorship or partnership agreements.
  • Are a strong writer and a strong project manager.
  • Like to travel.
  • Are interested in selling to the government or already do.
