About the Role
Ripple is seeking a Staff Data Scientist to provide technical leadership across its product and business portfolio. This role involves defining the analytics vision, building scientific frameworks for performance evaluation, and leveraging AI tooling to enhance analytics speed and reach throughout the company. The individual will collaborate with product and business leads to address key questions, establish analytical standards, and ensure data-driven decision-making.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the Data Science technical lead across multiple product and business teams, establishing methodological standards and resolving complex analytical challenges in areas like Payments, Stablecoin & Custody products.
- Partner with product and business leads to define analytics strategy, influencing investment priorities and success metrics.
- Develop scalable, reusable scientific frameworks for Ripple, including product and network health metrics, causal inference playbooks, liquidity and adoption models, and forecasting approaches.
- Pioneer AI-accelerated analytics by applying LLMs and agentic workflows to enhance insight generation, automate analysis, and enable self-serve exploration for non-data science partners.
- Drive evidence-based evaluation of growth across customers, corridors, and on-chain activity, identifying causal drivers of adoption and volume.
- Define and communicate key metrics for leadership, translating complex results into clear narratives for executives and external stakeholders.
- Elevate the Data Science function through thought leadership and mentorship across embedded teams.
Requirements
- 8+ years of experience in data science or quantitative analysis with a history of senior-level impact across multiple teams.
- Demonstrated technical leadership in cross-functional teams, influencing roadmaps and strategy at both executive and execution levels.
- Proven experience designing scalable and reusable analytics and measurement frameworks.
- Hands-on experience applying AI to accelerate analytics workflows, including agentic analysis, AI-assisted insight generation, and natural-language data interfaces.
- Deep expertise in experimentation, causal inference, forecasting, and statistical modeling within a product environment.
- Proficiency in Python or R, fluency in SQL, and experience with large-scale data technologies (Databricks, Airflow, dBT are a plus).
- Experience with FinTech, payments, crypto, or blockchain data is a strong advantage.
- Exceptional communication skills, capable of translating technical depth into executive-ready narratives.
