About the Role

MR MARVIS is seeking a senior UX Designer to establish and lead the UX practice within a fast-growing, product-led company. This role involves shaping UX standards, collaborating with product and engineering teams, and building the foundations for a mature UX function.

Responsibilities

Lead the UX practice as the sole designer, balancing hands-on design with foundational work.
Own UX quality across the storefront experience, including product listing, product detail, search, and cart.
Shape how UX is integrated into the retail app, post-purchase processes, and operational tools.
Build ways of working that foster business-wide understanding, trust, and benefit from UX.
Evolve the design system to include reusable journey patterns and discovery habits.
Coach the UX researcher and brief external specialists as needed.
Design the future shape of the UX team as the organization grows.
Influence product decisions by incorporating customer insights, evidence, and UX thinking.
Challenge assumptions while balancing customer needs, business goals, and technical constraints.

Requirements

Mature UX craft and the judgment to apply it in a fast-moving business.
Experience with end-to-end UX/UI design, discovery habits, and design system practice.
Comfort working as the most senior UX Designer without a mature UX organization.
Ability to test thinking openly with colleagues across the business.
Enjoyment in building foundations as much as designing experiences.
Experience building a design practice from the ground up or working as a senior design partner.
Ability to turn complex user, business, and technical input into clear design decisions.
Strategic perspective to see what the UX function needs to become as the company grows.
Good judgment to protect work quality under pressure without blocking progress.
Ability to adapt, push forward, and identify what must not be compromised.
Use evidence, warmth, and precision to keep conversations moving.
