About the Role
The Dietary Coordinator is responsible for ensuring the dietary staff adheres to cleaning schedules, meal preparation standards, and task completion. This role involves supervising staff, managing inventory, assisting with meal preparation, and maintaining sanitation standards.
Responsibilities
- Follows schedule and reassigns employees as necessary.
- Receives and follows oral or written work assignments from Supervisor.
- Ensures dietary staff clean kitchen, dining rooms, and food storage areas.
- Ensures dietary aides/RSA’s complete meal prep with proper techniques and temperature.
- Ensures dietary aides/RSA’s complete assigned tasks before end of shift.
- Conducts meetings with dietary aides/RSA’s as needed.
- Notifies the Director of Food Services of any broken or malfunctioning equipment.
- Performs test trays as required.
- Completes house stock supply order list weekly.
- Ensures each long-term care house has adequate inventory to prepare meals.
- Assists in preparing and serving meals to residents as needed.
- Assures proper storage of all food with proper labeling and dating.
- Responsible for proper sanitation of all kitchens, dining rooms, equipment, and storage rooms.
- Assists in assigning daily duties.
- Assures all equipment, thermometer calibration, and food temperatures are documented.
- Responsible for dating and labeling supplements and their delivery.
- Performs duties according to ethical standards and facility policies.
- Adheres to facility’s confidentiality statement.
- Performs other duties assigned by the Director of Dining Services.
Requirements
- High school graduate.
- Ability to read and write differentiating names, diet consistencies, and other relevant words and phrases related to household tasks.
- Ability to successfully complete an English Comprehension Screening.
- Ability to follow oral and written directions.
- Ability to communicate with nursing leadership.
- Ability to supervise dietary aides/RSA’s.
- Ability to use equipment as required for the job.
