About the Role
This role is part of the solutions consulting team, working closely with sales, implementation, and product teams. You will be the integration specialist for operational technology (OT), demonstrating how MaintainX connects to systems that run factory machinery using OT data connectors for Ignition, Kepware, and MQTT, as well as wireless vibration monitoring. You will be the go-to person for connecting client equipment data from SCADA layers or historian systems to MaintainX.
Responsibilities
- Manage the technical aspect of sales where client machinery, sensors, and control systems connect to MaintainX.
- Lead OT discovery with operations and automation teams, mapping data sources to the correct connector before a sale is finalized.
- Present OT connectors in live demonstrations using prospect equipment and data, showing buyers their factory within MaintainX.
- Define integration scope with implementation and professional services teams to ensure proper services are sold and delivered.
- Collaborate with solutions architects on custom OT needs beyond pre-configured connectors, providing them with clear technical documentation.
- Log recurring integration requests as product feedback to influence the connector roadmap.
- Work daily with account managers, solutions architects, implementation teams, Product, and R&D.
- Provide guidance to sales teams on when to engage your expertise.
- Become the primary contact for all OT discussions after six months.
- Have presented connectors in production at client sites after twelve months, with feedback influencing future development.
- Manage and support a client portfolio primarily in English-speaking markets (US and English Canada), requiring daily English communication.
- Travel to client sites as needed.
Requirements
- Minimum of 3 years in a customer-facing technical role (solutions consulting, pre-sales engineering, implementation, integrations, or similar).
- Hands-on experience in the manufacturing or industrial operations sector, understanding factory work processes.
- Experience designing or supporting integrations via APIs, data flows, or automation.
- Practical knowledge of OT data sources such as SCADA systems, historians, PLCs, or industrial gateways.
- Ability to explain data flows to both an operations manager and an IT manager in the same meeting, tailoring the message.
- Experience managing multiple concurrent evaluations while retaining technical detail.
- Daily verbal and written communication in English is required for client interactions in US and English Canada.
