About the Role
At Skanska, we are looking for a Construction Manager to effectively plan, manage, coordinate, and monitor specific areas and sub-contract packages of construction works, including structural packages and internal fit-out for high-spec commercial offices.
Responsibilities
- Manage trade contractors, including working drawings, procurement, prefabrication, and on-site performance.
- Oversee subcontractors, labor, and material requirements, supporting Project Managers with on- and off-site activities.
- Coordinate and manage on-site build and MEP trades through program planning and production control.
- Resolve site problems, provide feedback on defects, and propose innovative solutions.
- Collaborate with the design manager to facilitate the design process within cost restraints and coordinate production information for site requirements.
Requirements
- Construction-related qualification to HNC level.
- Member, or working towards membership, of a professional institution (MCIOB/ICE highly desirable).
- Possession of a current Managers CSCS card and SMSTS.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Basic IT skills including MS Office, Outlook, Adobe, and BIM.
- Suitable experience as a Construction Manager on similar size and type projects for a tier 1 main contractor.
- Previous experience in working and managing commercial office construction projects.
- Previous experience managing multiple trade contractors, including MEP.
