About the Role
As Chief of Staff to the CEO, you will act as a force multiplier, enabling the CEO and the company to move faster and make better decisions. You will operate at the intersection of strategy, the leadership team's operating cadence, board and investor relations, and the company's highest-priority projects. This role involves tackling ambiguous problems, refining strategic direction into clear narratives, and establishing mechanisms to maintain alignment in a rapidly scaling organization. You will take ownership of critical initiatives that lack a clear owner.
Responsibilities
- Serve as a thought partner to the CEO, taking structured initial approaches to complex challenges.
- Synthesize information, conduct analysis, outline options and trade-offs, and recommend strategic paths.
- Build and manage the founders' communication and execution layer, translating priorities into company-wide action.
- Oversee decision tracking, follow-up, and closure to ensure timely execution.
- Manage board and investor relations, including the creation of board decks and investor materials.
- Shape fundraising narratives and supporting financial data.
- Prepare the CEO for board meetings and investor discussions.
- Craft internal and external communications, including decks and memos for various company forums.
- Lead special projects from inception to completion, including fundraising, organizational design, market entry, and critical hires.
- Act as a proxy for the founders in meetings, conveying decisions, unblocking teams, and facilitating communication.
- Represent the founders in meetings when they are unable to attend.
Requirements
- A proven track record as a senior generalist with 8+ years of experience in strategy consulting, banking, venture capital, or senior strategy/operations roles within high-growth technology companies.
- Demonstrated experience leading workstreams, teams, or functions.
- A reputation for sound judgment.
- Executive-level communication skills, with the ability to craft clear narratives and drive decisions through writing and presentations.
- Proficiency in making progress with incomplete information and competing priorities.
- The ability to make and own critical decisions.
- Strong business and financial acumen, including comfort with financial models, cap tables, board narratives, and key business metrics.
- The capacity to engage effectively with finance teams and investors.
- High degree of ownership and discretion.
- A deadline-driven approach with meticulous attention to detail.
- The ability to manage multiple workstreams simultaneously without errors.
- Trustworthiness in handling sensitive company information.
