About the Role
We are looking for a motivated finance professional to support and grow a high-paced, global energy business. You will be responsible for delivering key accounting advice and implementation for high importance areas of the Group, such as fundraising, M&A, new geographies, new lines of business, and internal restructures. You will be involved in some of the most important financial decisions and projects undertaken by the company.
Responsibilities
- Provide technical accounting, financial advice and support for strategic projects, including debt facilities, key contracts, intercompany activity, and M&A.
- Provide technical accounting advice to the group and business units during the audit process.
- Ensure implementation of accounting excellence across the group for new developments and initiatives.
- Lead on accounting for due diligence on M&A activities.
- Work closely with treasury, capital markets, legal, and tax teams on project implementations.
- Work closely with Group Reporting and auditors to ensure accurate disclosure of new projects in financial statements.
- Work with external advisors to support key projects and select advice.
Requirements
- Experience in local and international accounting standards.
- Experience in fast-paced, rapidly growing, global organizations.
- Big 4 qualified (CA, ACCA or equivalent) with significant post-qualified experience in practice or industry.
- Excellent technical accounting experience in audit and/or advisory.
- Experience in controls implementations and business process improvements.
- Ability to operate independently in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple projects.
- Ability to effectively form trusted relationships with business unit management teams while retaining the ability to challenge with empathy and understanding.
