About the Role

Isomorphic Labs is applying frontier AI to help unlock deeper scientific insights, faster breakthroughs, and life-changing medicines with an ambition to solve all disease. This role serves as the dedicated partner to our drug discovery organization for both strategic and operational finance, managing the financial aspects of drug development from discovery to preclinical testing. You will bring financial thought leadership and rigor to key stakeholders as the company builds its drug portfolio.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary finance partner for the Drug Design and Development team.
• Provide strategic thought partnership to support delivery of portfolio objectives.
• Lead end-to-end budgeting, forecasting, and resource planning.
• Provide financial decision support for the Portfolio Steering Team.
• Build project-level NPV and risk-adjusted valuation models for pipeline assets to support portfolio prioritization.
• Partner with Business Development to model economics for biopharma partnerships and licensing deals, research collaborations and milestones.
• Partner with our External Research team and Procurement during RFP processes to evaluate, benchmark, and negotiate budgets with vendors.
• Deliver regular variance analysis and continuously enhance financial reporting and workflows to support portfolio growth.
• Oversee robust and efficient accruals processes.

Requirements

• Direct experience managing R&D / drug development finance and FP&A/partnering within biotech, pharma, or life sciences.
• Deep experience building and maintaining robust financial models for portfolio prioritisation and project NPV.
• Clear executive-level communicator for both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Proven track record in business partnering, influencing senior leadership, and excellence in stakeholder management.
• Experience in utilizing LLMs and other AI to drive efficiency.
• Professional accounting qualification (e.g., ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CPA, or equivalent) is a plus.
• Life sciences background/experience is highly desirable.
• Experience using Google Workspace (Sheets, Slides etc) is a plus.
• Experience implementing or managing financial systems (e.g. ERP, procurement) is a plus.
