About the Role
This role involves industrializing a platform for massive real-time data volumes and translating that data into product value. You will build and harden data pipelines, and contribute advanced mathematical, statistical, and algorithmic expertise to tech and product squads, taking algorithms from design to production.
Responsibilities
- Build and operate the data platform.
- Design and implement data processing workflows in Python, from development to production.
- Centralize and harmonize heterogeneous data sources.
- Develop, test, and orchestrate pipelines using Airflow.
- Act as a curator of data, collecting and enriching business data.
- Monitor and guarantee the quality and back-end performance of production.
- Join a squad to own the data science / algorithmic building block of a feature.
- Understand business needs and translate them into algorithmic methodologies or statistical learning models.
- Select, adapt, or design algorithms, including heuristics, statistical methods, and graph algorithms.
- Define evaluation metrics and demonstrate solution effectiveness at scale.
- Deploy algorithms to production within a quality assurance process.
- Industrialize the model lifecycle: packaging, reproducibility, versioning, retraining, monitoring, and drift tracking.
- Propose innovative solutions for resilience and performance under heavy load.
- Empower colleagues by providing tools for leveraging high-quality data.
- Contribute to the team's growth through knowledge sharing and mentoring.
Requirements
- Hold a Master's-level degree or above (MSc, engineering school, PhD).
- 3 to 5 years of professional experience combining data science and software development, or a data engineering background with an appetite for algorithms.
- Proficient in Python and its scientific ecosystem (pandas, scikit-learn).
- Proficient in SQL.
- Strong skills in algorithms, complexity classes, optimization, and machine learning.
- Ability to reason about algorithms and estimate their cost at scale.
- Write tested, reviewed, maintainable code.
- Comfortable with continuous integration and software engineering best practices.
- Proactive, autonomous, and mature.
- Driven by efficiency and resilience.
- Curious about new trends in the data ecosystem and technological change.
- Fluent in English (written and spoken).
