About the Role
This role involves supporting a paediatric female client with complex care needs, including lung disease and acquired brain injury, in her family home. You will provide personal care, administer medications, and manage clinical interventions such as tracheostomy and ventilation.
Responsibilities
- Providing high-quality, person-centered care to clients in their homes
- Providing personal care
- Assisting with moving and handling
- Supporting with clinical interventions specific to the client
- Enriching clients' quality of life via community interaction
- Supporting clients in achieving their goals/aspirations
- Administering medications
- Managing clinical interventions including tracheostomy, ventilation via tracheostomy, humidification, and gastrostomy care
Requirements
- 6 months care experience within the last 2 years (UK based)
- Prior experience with tracheostomy preferred
- Experience with personal care, medication, and manual handling
- Comfortable working in a 1:1 setting
- Willing to learn new skills and undertake complex care training
- Ability to provide high-quality care with compassion and professionalism
